Mazda Motor Corporation is a Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Fuchū, Hiroshima, Japan. Mazda started as a cork manufacture before moving onto their first vehicle, a motorised three-wheel truck. In 1963 they debuted the world’s first rotary engine, the “Wankel” which development led to the Mazda Cosmo Sport 110S in 1967 which was the first production car with a two-rotor rotary engine. Mazda perfected their rotary engine signature until 2003 with the Mazda RX-8 being the last of this engine design. Their Skyactive engine design carried them through to their first ever EV, the MX-30.
